"We are excited to begin the process of registering IWoMA in Nigeria, as it will enable us to deepen our engagement with local communities and stakeholders," said Dr. Comfort Asokoro-Ogaji, Executive Director of IWoMA. "Registration in Nigeria will also facilitate partnerships with government agencies, NGOs, and other organizations, enhancing our ability to effect positive change within the mining sector."

London, UK - The Initiative for Women Miners in Africa (IWoMA), a UK-based interest group of individuals dedicated to empowering women in the mining sector, is pleased to announce its commencement of registration in Nigeria.

Registration in Nigeria represents a significant milestone for IWoMA, allowing the organization to directly engage with mining communities in the country and further its mission of promoting gender equity and social justice within the mining sector. By establishing a presence in Nigeria, IWoMA aims to enhance its impact and better serve the needs of women miners and their families in the region.

As part of its commitment to supporting women miners in Nigeria, IWoMA reaffirms its partnership with Richflood International Environmental Foundation (RFF) as its implementing partner in the country. RFF will continue to work closely with IWoMA to execute programs and initiatives aimed at empowering women miners and eradicating child labor in the mining sector.

Registration in Nigeria opens up new opportunities for IWoMA to collaborate with local stakeholders, advocate for policy reforms, and implement targeted interventions that promote the rights and well-being of women and children in mining communities across the country.
